Autodesk to Showcase Digital Prototyping Solutions at Offshore Europe 2009

Company Will Also Unveil New Plant Solutions Product

FARNBOROUGH, United Kingdom, 25 August 2009 – Autodesk, a world leader in 2D and 3D design and engineering software, will be demonstrating digital prototyping solutions for the offshore industry at SPE Offshore Europe 2009 (Aberdeen, 8-11 September 2009, Suite 14, Stand F10). Autodesk will also be unveiling a new plant solutions product, which brings modern 3D design technology to plant designers and engineers. Autodesk is a key sponsor for the show and solutions on display at the event will include applications for equipment design, plant design and visualisation, which help companies to reduce product development cost and increase accuracy and innovation.

Visitors to the Autodesk stand will discover how to go beyond 3D to Digital Prototyping with Autodesk® Inventor® 2010 and Autodesk®  Navisworks® and how Autodesk software can be a source of competitive advantage in the sector, helping their businesses to:

  • Drive innovation without escalating development costs
  • Win more complex projects - and deliver on time
  • Design better products
  • Improve collaboration between global design teams; engineer, procure, construct (EPC) contractors and component suppliers
  • Streamline processes and reduce time to market

According to Richard Blatcher, head of manufacturing marketing, Northern Europe, Autodesk, “engineering companies across the offshore oil and gas sector are facing a raft of complex challenges. To achieve commercial success, they must maintain optimum levels of design quality. At the same time, they need to reduce costs and streamline an increasingly complex supply chain.

“Our solutions for digital prototyping can be a source of competitive advantage in this environment, helping companies to reduce product developments costs, support efficient data management and increase accuracy and innovation.”
