Autodesk hosts An Evening with ILM

15 March 2007 – Autodesk will be hosting a series of evenings with Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in six European cities. Joel Aron, digital production supervisor at ILM, will be presenting some of their most recent projects, including the Academy Award winning special effects for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and the new 3D version of The Nightmare Before Christmas. He will also be giving an exclusive preview of the visual effects work on the forthcoming films, Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Joel joined ILM in 1991 as a technical assistant on Hook. He has worked as a sequence supervisor on several high profile films such as Jurassic Park, Men in Black, The Perfect Storm and Pearl Harbour. As a sequence supervisor, Joel is responsible for helping technical directors with their day-to-day technical and aesthetic questions. He communicates the vision of the visual effects supervisor and the film’s director to ensure consistency and continuity between shots. Joel’s list of ILM credits also includes Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, The Chronicles of Riddick, Sleepy Hollow and Schindler’s List.
