Design Slam @ BSL2014

Imagine Design Create and enter the Design Slam now! Show off your design,
engineering, construction skills in this nationwide competition taking place at this
year’s BIM Show Live!

For the first time ever, Autodesk are hosting a Design Slam competition at BIM
Show Live. This is your opportunity to shine amongst your peers as well as getting
global recognition through the use of your winning entry in future Autodesk
sales/marketing campaigns. Register to enter the Design Slam now!


  • Two category winners (Building and Infrastructure) and one overall winner:
    - For the Building category we would like you to design a new ticket office approx. 150m2 no higher than 2/3 of the adjacent buildings such that it’s carbon footprint is as close to zero as possible.
    - For the Infrastructure category we would like you to create a new road crossing which would serve the new ticket office which would be found in front of the conference centre.

  • Once you have registered to enter, you will be sent an information pack which includes:
    - Project brief
    - Technology/software available
    - Rules & guidelines
    - Submission details
    - A 3D Virtual City Model (VCM) of the Manchester Central Area


  • The information pack will be supplied once registration is complete
  • You start working on your entry
  • At BIM Show Live, you will be given a 20 minute slot to finalise your entry before submitting
  • Judging will take place on April 24th
  • Winners announced on April 24th


  1. No Autodesk employees, sponsors, resellers or affiliates to enter
  2. Only Autodesk software to be used – this can include Maya, Showcase, Revit to AutoCAD LT –
    your choice as long as it is Autodesk software only
  3. Share the steps you have taken in creating your entry
  4. The 3D model provided is not be used outside of this competition, it is only available for the
    Design Slam competition purposes
