It’s time to say goodbye to educated guesses and over-engineering. Introducing Shape Generator, a new approach for creating optimal designs based on the real-world conditions you define—and available as part of your Product Design Suite subscription.
What's New: Shape Generator
Just got a file from another CAD system? Not a problem. Simply reference the file in your Inventor assembly and start designing. No translation, no geometry repair, no re-linking files—everything stays associative. So you won’t have to waste time re-arranging your design—or your plans for the weekend—due to changing models.
Of course you still get parametric and direct edit. But we’ve also improved T-Splines™ technology to make it even more intuitive and easy to use. Create free-form surfaces that are smooth (G2 continuity), watertight, and geometrically accurate—and combine them with powerful Inventor hybrid workflows—to rapidly iterate through concepts.
With new IDF import options, it’s easier than ever to sync up your Printed Circuit Board (PCB) with your mechanical drawings. Automatically match IDF data with 3D component libraries as soon as you import. Combine board designs and mechanical enclosures at the right level of detail. And speed up the entire process by filtering out any unnecessary data.
Take the guesswork out of designing. Forget developing mechanical concepts on paper only to have to re-create them in CAD. Now you can quickly develop and share mechanical systems—whether you’re in the field or office—with Autodesk® ForceEffect™ and Autodesk® ForceEffect™ Motion. From your mobile device or desktop, you’ll be able to develop conceptual analyses of static and kinematic mechanical systems, which can make developing systems from start to finish a whole lot easier.
This year we implemented several of the Top Ideas from the Inventor IdeaStation— submitted by users just like you. From new workflows to help make you more productive with creating parts, to easier ways to work with assembly models. And it all starts with the new MyHome page for a streamlined and quicker way to tackle your work.
When you choose Desktop Subscription, you’ll always have access to the latest capabilities—often before anyone else.
